美國總統大選最後一場著重在外交政策的辯論也非常精彩
CNN 和 CBS 民調均顯示現任總統歐巴馬贏得了這場辯論
Mike老師在第一場和最後一場辯論中
都注意到歐巴馬反覆使用一個聽起來很怪的文法錯誤句型
這場辯論 (44:48-44:55) 的句子如下：

The reason we did this is because a nuclear Iran is a threat to our national security . . .

可見歐巴馬並不知道 "reason" 不能跟 "because" 一起使用
正確的表達方式應為：

The reason we did this is that a nuclear Iran is a threat to our national security . . .

就像很多同學喜歡講 "The reason is because . . . " 其實是標準的錯誤用法

歐巴馬總統在首場辯論中 (13:08) 也講過這樣的錯誤句子：

And the reason is, because I believe that we do best when the middle class is doing well.

正確講法應為：

And the reason is that I believe that we do best when the middle class is doing well.

「朗文英英字典」對此有明確的說明：

可見在國內總統的英文跟皇后的貞操一樣是不容許遭受懷疑的
